I got smoked on an ISRG post-earnings straddle, after entering the trade I realized the co. had issued guidance about a week earlier, muting its volatility. Sad! Flipped straddles in FCX for some quick cash but not enough to make up for the ISRG loss.
Market is getting smoked a bit this morning, with the SPY down about 2.1%, indicative of IV 33%, this has the VIX up 45%. Even worse in QQQ land, with Q's down about 3.5%, they had been down as low as 4.2%, attributed to concerns of cheap Chinese AI being able to operate without so many GPUs. This has also sent the nuclear power stocks lower.
