Houston, we have a problem! The Nikkei drops over 12% overnight, S&P futures are down 4%, the QQQ's are down close to 6%, with AAPL down over 10%. The VIX is marked around 62, or +300%. Utter chaos in the market spells opportunity for the options trader, assuming option spreads aren't blown out 0.05x4.50 all morning. If there's any silverlining to the market getting destroyed, cryptocurrencies are getting even more destroyed, so much for being a market hedge! Ha.
I flipped a post-earnings straddle in CMI on Friday from 3.50 to 4.60, I flipped the puts first holding the calls looking for a reversal by end of day. That reversal never came as the puts could have been flipped for around $11.00 at peak value.
