Last week in vol hindsight: PANW a week from this past Friday tanked 7% toward EOD on report of key executive leaving. EW had a report break around 1130am about its key medical device being recalled, IV was priced around 30% then ripped to over 55% within a half hour as the stock dropped from 219 down to 211. Then on Friday morning, Trump tweeted arguably his most controversial Fed comments yet. With SPY trading around 290.5, the ATM Friday opex straddle was going for 1.99, IV ripped sending the straddle up 10% within two minutes, then the SPY sold off to 285 throughout the day with vol pumping.
