About

I’m a computer science student and self-taught trader. I began studying trading in March of 2006. I started trading a live forex account in April and by the end of the year I had made about a 40% return. I haven’t yet been trading even two years, but teaching yourself forces you to learn a lot quickly, and I feel I have something to contribute to the community.
When I first started I was a bit overwhelmed by the amount of complete crap you have to wade through to get a good self-education in trading. My goal is to create a site that I would have liked to find in the beginning, but that isn’t exclusively useful to the beginner. This site should be valuable to anyone interested in trading, but especially useful for those without a huge budget to spend on software and data (I started with $1,000 for my trading account and $0 for data/extra software/etc).
If you’re new to trading, and don’t know where to start, check out this post.
Some of my current trading-related interests/projects include:
*developing a community for traders who use *nix systems
*developing a cross-platform, open source, extensible, multi-broker trading client
*exploring apparent fractal-like patterns in markets
*automated trading systems (and writing one)
*developing this website, including my Global Economic Intelligence System (GEIS)
Yes, I know the picture is ridiculous, that’s why I put it there.
